Most significant wins/accomplishments: 3rd at Reno Worlds, most pins (8); Battle for the Belts Champion and Outstanding Wrestler, Oregon Classic Champion; Track wrestling record 62 wins, 3 losses, 54 Pins, 1 major.

Coming to us from the great state of Washington, Israel Acosta is one of the best and most spirited wrestlers to come through HERO! With his great goal setting, huge love for the sport, and sheer passion, Israel is sure to be on his way to becoming one of the greats. Why do you enjoy wrestling?

I enjoy wrestling because it's fun! What's the best advice your coach has given you?

 

 

What's the most important thing wrestling has taught you?

It has taught me to never quit!

 

What's the best advice your coach has given you?

The best advice my coach has given me is to never give up. 

How do you handle tough defeats? 

I think about what I did wrong and work harder.

What’s your proudest achievement as a wrestler?

 Wrestling in Reno and getting 8 pins. 

 

What's your favorite wrestling move? 

My favorite wrestling move is a cement mixer. 

Do you have a hero/role model? 

I want to be like Jordan Burroughs.   

 

 

What's your favorite subject in school?

Math! 

 

 

 

 

Do you play any sports aside from wrestling?

I also play soccer. 

Do you have any other hobbies outside of wrestling? 

I like drawing! 

What are your goals for your wrestling career?

 My goal for my wrestling career is to make it to the Olympics.

What are your goals for the next 1-5 years?

 My personal goal is to win Reno Worlds. 

What is your biggest area where you could improve?

I could improve by training more.
