Daniel... Baby Max... Maximus... Whatever you may prefer to call him, it doesn't matter: this kid is made of steel. At the young age of just 10, Max dominates the leaderboards, sending opponents back to the drawing board. We've seen the pictures and videos of him doing his moves, and all of them have his opponents eating the mat. He's cruising through school, loving math and science. Why do you enjoy wrestling?
It keeps me active, and I enjoy travelling with all my friends. Most of all though I think wrestling is really fun.
What is the most important thing wrestling has taught you?
It has taught me to be tough, and to have sportsmanship, especially in defeats.
What's the best advice your coach has given you?
Never give up, even if you're losing.
How do you handle tough defeats?
I take some time alone to figure things out. Then I have ice cream.
What’s your proudest achievement as a wrestler?
Wrestling at the Tulsa Nationals.
How old were you when you started wrestling?
I was all of just 4 years old!
What is your favorite post-tournament meal or treat?
Crab legs. And lots of them.
Do you have a favorite song that gets you pumped up before a practice or match?
TP & Esco.
What is your favorite wrestling move?
I always use leg-riding as my go-to move. It works!
Who is your Hero/role model?
Joey Lazor from UNI!
What is your favorite subject in school?
I prefer math and science, those are definitely my favorites.
What is your favorite movie?
Alvin and the Chipmunks! It doesn't get any more funny.
Do you play any sports aside from wrestling?
I also play football, baseball, and soccer.
Do you have any favorite hobbies outside of sports?
I love riding four-wheelers and motorcycles. I think it's a blast to play with remote control toys too.
What are your goals for this season?
I want to get better at doing the chicken wing, and I want to win more titles.
What are your goals for your wrestling career?
I want to win 20 State titles and 43 National titles.
